We love knitting because it's beautiful!

We have been knitting for more than 170 years and are preparing for another 170 years.

Knitting is one of the oldest textile techniques in the world. While hand knitting has been known since ancient times (Egyptian socks from the 3rd–5th centuries AD), machine knitting began only at the end of the 16th century and has undergone dramatic development since then. In the Czech Republic, the oldest preserved knitted item is St. Adalbert's glove, probably made at the request of Charles IV. It is now part of the St. Vitus Treasure in the Metropolitan Cathedral of St. Vitus at Prague Castle. Knitted clothing is one of the most popular types of clothing in the world today - virtually everyone has at least one knitted sweater, T-shirt, or pair of socks at home. There are several reasons for this, and together they make knitted fabric an almost "perfect" material for clothing.

1. Exceptional comfort and body adaptation

- Knitted fabric is elastic in all directions (unlike woven fabrics, which are only elastic diagonally).

- It fits the body perfectly, does not constrict, does not restrict movement → ideal for T-shirts, leggings, underwear, sportswear, and sweaters.

- Thanks to the loops - air pockets in the knit fabric - it regulates temperature perfectly, keeping you warm in winter and cool in summer (with thin knits).

2. Pleasant feeling on the skin

- Modern knitwear is made from merino wool, cashmere, alpaca, or blends thereof → soft, non-irritating, non-static

3. Enormous variability in appearance and structure

- From ultra-fine "silky" knitwear to classic jersey T-shirts and coarse fisherman's sweaters.

- Jacquards, nubs, holes, 3D structures, intarsia - knitwear can do things that woven fabric can never do, such as seamless collars, pockets, and embossed patterns.

4. Sustainability and low waste

- Modern knitting uses only as much yarn as is actually needed - waste is often less than 2% (compared to 15–25% for woven fabrics). We knit and decrease directly to size, with no or minimal waste.

- Easy recycling - knitted items can be unraveled, unraveled (come and see for yourself) and the yarn can be reused.

5. Price × performance

- A simple, high-quality merino T-shirt will last for years and is more comfortable than most woven alternatives.

- Even a luxury cashmere sweater is often cheaper than a comparable high-quality woven coat.

6. Fashion and the "hygge" factor

- Knitwear is associated with cosiness, home, and "slow fashion."

- Oversized sweaters, cardigans, knitted dresses - all of these have been continuously in fashion for decades.
